21st Century Pioneers

Airmen from across the 67th Network Warfare Wing compete in the wing's first ever force-on-force competition, Cyber Nexus, May 19. This multi-disciplined team won the competition from the Air Force Network Integration Center at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., winning by the small margin of 92 points over the team based out of the Gunter Annex at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Master Sgt. promotion notification

Tech. Sgt Nelson Reyes, assigned to 24th Air Force plans and requirements, and his wife Brenda were surprised when he was notified that he was selected for the rank of master sergeant by Maj. Gen. Suzanne Vautrinot, 24th Air Force commander, Master Sgt. Michael Pelletier, 24th Air Force first sergeant, and Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Slater, 24th Air Force command chief (not pictured). Maj. Ransom posthumously promoted

Maj. Charles A. Ransom, a cyberspace Airman assigned to the 83rd Network Operations Squadron, Langley Air Force Base, Va., was a captain who had been selected for the rank of major when he died April 27, 2011, at the Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan. Captain Charles A. Ransom, a cyberspace Airman assigned to the 83rd Network Operations Squadron, Langley Air Force Base, Va., died April 27, 2011, at the Kabul International Airport in Afghanistan of wounds suffered from gunfire while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. The captain was deployed to Afghanistan from the 83rd NOS, a part of the 67th Network Warfare Wing, located at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
