390TH CYBERSPACE OPERATIONS SQ

The 390th Cyberspace Operations Squadron (390COS), located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, is assigned to the 67th Cyberspace Operations Group, 67th Cyberspace Wing, 24th Air Force, Air Force Space Command.

The 390th Cyberspace Operations Squadron (390 COS), located at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, is assigned to the 67th Cyberspace Operations Group, 67th Cyberspace Wing (67 CW), 24th Air Force, Air Force Space Command.

Organization:

The 390th COS is comprised of four operational flights that are optimized to support Combatant Commanders missions.

Mission:
Conduct operations that manipulate the cyberspace domain to enable Combatant Commanders the ability to perform Global Strike and Cyber ISR.

People:

There are 96 authorized billets to conduct operations under the 67 CW “engage” line of effort.  Member of the unit are responsible to hold adversary targets at risk, at will, in support of Joint Force Commanders.

Cyber-minded airmen who are organized, trained, and equipped to conduct offensive military operations in and through cyberspace in support of national interests.

History:
The 390 COS was originally constituted as the 390 Communications Squadron on 14 Sep 1976 and first activated on 1 Oct 1976. From inception until 1 Aug 1984, it was a part of the Strategic Communications Area (later, Strategic Communications Division; Strategic Information Systems Division). The unit was redesignated as the 390 Information Systems Operations Squadron on 1 Aug 1984 and realigned under 1 Aerospace Information Systems (later, 1 Aerospace Communications) Wing until 1 Oct 1993.  It was again renamed the 390 Communications Operations Squadron on 1 Nov 1986 and inactivated on 1 Oct 1993. The former 315 Network Warfare Squadron, now the 315 COS, consisted of 3 Detachments in 2012 and Detachment 2 was officially designated as 390 Cyberspace Operations Squadron on 30 Apr 2015 and activated on 1 Jul 2015.
