690TH CYBERSPACE OPERATIONS SQ

The 690th Cyberspace Operations Squadron (690th COS) is located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii and aligned under the 690th Cyberspace Operations Group, 67th Cyberspace Wing, JBSA-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.  These are subsequently aligned under the 24th Air Force and Air Force Space Command. 

Mission: 
Operate, Sustain, and Defend the Air Force Information Network employing the Cyberspace Security and Control System to assure global cyber supremacy, enforce network standards, and develop Airmen as cyber warriors.

Organization: 
The 690 COS supports the 67th Cyberspace Wing’s mission by providing 24/7 operations in support of 580K+ users world-wide. The squadron provides centralized cyberspace defense and mission assurance utilizing the Cyberspace Security and Control (CSCS) Weapon System across the Air Force enterprise network.  The unit directly supports over 50,000 users within the Major Command of the Pacific Air Forces by providing situational awareness cyberspace effects for the region through core services including directory/authentication services, monitoring, server storage and backup management, infrastructure, and telephonic voice capabilities. 
The 690 COS executes Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and DoD Information Network (DODIN) operations utilizing the crew concept which mirrors traditional functional area network operations while incorporating an operationally rigorous approach to accomplishing cyber tasks. Additionally, the squadron employs Cyber Alert Patrol (CAP) crews which focuses on the completion of enterprise network tasks that are considered regional Major Command (MAJCOM) priorities.

History: 
The 690 COS was established on January 8, 2015 with the deactivation of the 561st Network Operations Squadron, Detachment 1 and the 690th Network Support Squadron, Detachment 3.
